Yep, but some surprise page isn't going to get a lot of people spending money with Skype. but will get a percentage of people looking for Skype alternatives. Based on my experience, the conversation rate would probably earn them $1 per 250,000 annoying pages.
If I was marketing Skype, I would be trying to increase the user base, try make and sell it as the only phone that people need. Sell a home phone replacement, that easily connects to a Skype account once plugged in to the Internet. - if there's isn't one already.
If users are then not using other phones, they would be a lot more willing to part with cash for Skype.
