otoh "fabrication" would make me uneasy because it's got the secondary meaning of making things up. "We Put the Thing in Thingamajig" (halfway up this thread) would be a great slogan-- once you've figured out what it's a slogan for! Or an image of a jigsaw puzzle with a missing piece. You've never seen the piece but you can figure out what it needs to be.
It's like a hardware store isn't it? You go in with no idea what you need, just that you need something, and by golly they've got it.
