Hee. Trivia: the one thing duct tape (which may really, historically, be "duck tape" and not a misspelling) is lousy at is taping up ducts ;)

My father once tried an ordinary glue stick on some part of his diffractometer setup and found it worked just as well as the Expensive Hard-To-Obtain Specially Made Technical Adhesive.

And then there's the universal solvent...
