That said, I am really interested in the anti-terrorist pantomime - just how do the powers that be imagine that one of the missile batteries on top of the nearby tower blocks are going to shoot down any Al-Qaeda controlled airliners over London without causing even more damage?

I thought that the Whitehall poodles were just obeying orders from Washington over deploying the missiles.
