always in combination / compound with another element or elements )..don't try making your own textile capacitors at home.. Fluoride is the anion F−*, the reduced form of fluorine when as an ion and when bonded to another element.

For those who didn't do an additional few years ( after the "a level" ) of chemistry..most of the fluorine compounds are in the "not to be messed with" category..
*Anion should be shown as a superscript - ( or an "overscore" ) ..this board doesn't like it :( ..so use F- instead..
