There's an entire ecosystem built around the phones and tablets that MS doesn't have and many others have failed to get.

They obviously could get to #3 without too much trouble simply because there isn't any other serious contenders behind iOS and Android, so #3 is a shoe-in.

As a matter of fact, it's more a simple statement of fact that MS Windows 8 will be the #3 tablet and maybe smart phone than a prediction.

The real question is can they get enough mind share to move up to #2 or #1, that's the real interesting issue, not whether they can get to #3.

They haven't even launched it and they're probably already #3 ;)
