Mine is married with kids. I told a good ( much younger ) friend of mine who I have known since he was 18.. before you know it your daughter will have left school. 18 years later he says "you were right".

My child is of course, in my mind , still 6-10 years old.

I always remember the phone calls
"Dad come and pick me up"
me: "It's 10:00 in the evening"
child: "Well you wouldn't want me to walk home alone at this time of night..."

ouch.....

But then I'm still 20 ...mentally
