Good decision from Dell imho. I travel a lot and need the power a high-end laptop can give me. Sure it is nice to have a light little number in your bag, and so much easier at customs and everywhere else but they just do not meet my needs.

There can also be a lot of confusion between netbook and ultraportable. I doubt Dell is pulling out of the ultraportable market.
