printers are so cheap these days
;-) they always were..( printers are usually sold at a loss to get you hooked on the ink )..even 12 years ago..
I think it's the price of the ink ( ml per ml it seems to be getting more expensive with the newer printers ..the black in my basic epson costs 6 times the price of the same quantity in my old HP ..and when the black runs out in the 4 separate cartridge epson ..it wont print at all* ) which concerns Mrs engine's husband ? ;-)
What is worse, is when any of the colours ( Y,M,C )..each in separate cartridges get half empty or dry ..it won't print black until I buy new colour ones..So I no longer use it except as a backup scanner..it is also piano black ..:((
*The HP doesn't care if the colour cartridge is missing a colour or is dry ..it happily prints black as long as there is black in the black cartridge ..right down to the last drop ..and uses refillable cartridges..the epson's are "chipped"..the quality is "meh"..2 years old. ..and the HP photo quality is better ..and it is 12 years old !
