So I have a bit of esssssspionage.. or maybe it's counter-essssspionage.. that I have been charged with carrying out. Suffice to say I'm on the side of good - promise. :)
I need to gather some evidence, including taking video/audio recordings of video playing on a website. I've found a couple of freeware recorders, one of which seems to work very nicely video-wise, but neither of which are capturing audio. Something about my laptop not having the option to turn on stereo-max or something?
To be clear, this is just legitimate info gathering for a legal issue, not an attempt to rip video off a site.
I've tried various recommended fixes and haven't gotten anywhere with that, but now i wonder if I can just run a cable from my audio out to my mic jack, feeding the computer's sound back into itself, and record the audio like that (assuming the mic input works, which I haven't got a mic here to test).
Does that sound feasible, or is sleep deprivation frying my brain? Speaking of which.. sleep is way overdue.. will check back in the morning.
thanks in advance.
