Happy New Year to all webmasters. The web continues to evolve. I worry about how consumers continue to move away from small business to larger, well-known online "brand names."

I can't blame them--as the news reminds us every day, we know there are a lot of bad actors in the world. It's good to deal with people you know.

The "good" news for many people here, of course, is that if you have been in business for five or more years, then you are something of a proven brand. Those established web sites who can offer (and communicate that) real value could do OK this year.
