I'd say the important thing is to make damn sure that whatever you do or don't do, it mustn't be happening at the last minute...as soon as she arrives it should be 110% missedyougladyou'reback...interspersing that with finishing off the last batch of dishes rather dilutes it IMO

I also find that expensive chocolate and a decent wine tend to smooth out most rough edges
