I don't know which is worse: when she starts trying to sing some crappy pop song, over-emoting everything, and trying to warble her voice as though she knew what "vibrato" meant, or when she tries to make up her own song... which always has an awful, meandering non-melody, words that make very little sense, and it just keeps going, and going, and going, and... It's really hard to find a polite way to ask her to stop. ;) Somehow, "please go sing in your room, quietly, with the door closed" just doesn't seem like something you ought to say when you want to encourage a child's self-esteem and creativity.
