There's no time I miss Maine more than foliage season. And I think the biking in VT might be even better than it is at home... My current state of residence, Indiana, is making things worse right now by running a big tourism campaign based around the idea that they have fall foliage in IN - which is clearly false.

Speaking of hearty NE food, lorax, do you have any idea how one might go about making a boiled dinner vegetarian without ruining it? Even before I was vegetarian I always skipped out on eating the meat part, but since all the flavors blend between everything, I figure you probably need to add some sort of spicing to the thing to replace the corned beef. I don't know how to corn beef, so I don't know what to try.
