My parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on January 6th, but wanted to actually celebrate a little before.

Father calls me up to see if I can help with organizing a trip ( they want to go to New York City ) - being the good (only) son they have... I said sure, plus I'll pick up the tab... consider it part of your Christmas gift.

So far I have them booked as follows:

Round-trip flight from their city to New York
Limo from the airport to the hotel, and then back to the airport
3 Nights at the Waldorf-Astoria Towers
2 Tickets to the Christmas Spectacular @ Radio City Music Hall ( great seats )
Dinner for 2 at NOBU, with Orchids at the table.
Limo transportation from hotel to show, dinner, and back to hotel.

... and the response I get from dear ol' Dad - "sounds great, when can I get my new golf clubs?"
