Not in our case. Large rectangles in the middle of the hotspot are still the biggest bringer of income. My CTR for Adlinks is actually the lowest among my other ad formats. After reading how folks are proclaiming the wonders of Adlinks here, I tried it on my sites only to find that things indeed work differently for other folks.
