The most important thing is that I should be able to write about it for some time. In my case that automatically implies I have to like the topic. Keywords don't necccessarily have to be high paying keywords. As long as their is good stuff to write there will perhaps be other ways than Adsense of monetizing the content in the future.

I searched (my country's) Google for sailing, scuba diving and antiques. Stuff I like and want to learn about. But it's so much work to get anywhere on those topics. There's big sites out there. Perhaps I should indeed find a niche within my current topic. Or buy scuba gear and go diving in the murky waters in front of my house! That would be a weird wat to invest my current Adsense income. :P
