People don't click on ads just because they are there. The ads that they see must naturally lead on from the reason for visiting the blog. Unfortunately there may be better bids from irrelevant advertisers because your pages contain keywords that are relevent to them.
For example if you are writing about a topic in a locality your visitors may be coming due to interest in the topic but the best paying advertisers are for the locality. Say you are reviewing a gig by a country band in a major city. Your visitors may be interested in country concerts, CDs, magazines etc but the best bids are location based perhaps for ads for plumbers near the concert hall.
