Do you guys think having a banner in the header is wasteful if the site has a very low bounce rate (according to Google Analytics) and more than 2 minutes user time spent on the site?
My assumption would be that many of the users are reading the content and therefore the banner ad will likely be overlooked by most people. I guess the sure way to find out is to track individual ads. But I also read about people testifying on forums that too many ad blocks will reduce cost per click because you will get a bunch of low paying ads on top of the higher paying ones showing on the site at the same time. But it is Google themselves who keep sending me messages in my dashboard to show a third block.
