Sorry to drag this out of the dust, but I now have questions.

I've been getting 1/4 to 1/3 of my visits from mobile & tablet users. At what point should a switch to a responsive design be made? I've got a 3-column design nearly ready to go. The only area that I can place adsense is in the right sidebar as it will still show at all widths. I totally lose the left sidebar at the narrowest view but I may yet find a cure for that. Should I wait to make the switch, can the whole idea or ?
