If page views alone were the answer then why do so many forum boards earn relatively so little in comparison to their traffic levels?

If one is in a niche market like myself then there is inevitably a limit as to traffic volume, sure I do have have competition but nothing like the amount of competition for the huge traffic popular subjects and it's very doubtful these days whether a one-man band could achieve this.
