An entire thread based on pure speculation!
Maybe so however it's a very good idea to check one's own back-up policies and whether they are still needed.
For instance I've deleted all my Gmail accounts (12) since I really do not require them any longer. I set=up my Gmail accounts at a time of regular PC crashes, lost data and even the e-mail client going belly-up. Using my current client makes life not only a whole lot better but much easier.
This weekend I'm going to start checking through all sorts of external back-up drives amassed since 1994. For UK legal reasons I'll keep certain stuff up to seven years old however I know I have so much saved crap that I'll never need, it can be gone.
Anyone want any floppies or zip disks, maybe some USB 1.0 externals? :-)
