Some niches are simply not made for AdSense monetization.

I buried a big music project of mine (> 5 Mio PIs/month and around 60k registered members) 2 years ago because it hardly paid the hosting costs. 5 years of development and we dropped it.
It was too much work to maintain, we did not want to keep on going and the price we got offered for it was way to low for all the work we spend.

Sometimes you have to cut the cord if your focus is on the business site of a project and it is not paying off.

Today I run several health forums and could live from it if I wanted but I like being a paediatrician so quitting my full time job is not an option for me.
