Off-topic I know, but I agree with walkman - as a Brit I'm happy about the Royal Wedding and the attention that it's attracted.

Re: what john28uk says: part of it is that there were bank holidays last friday (8 days ago, that is), then one on monday (5 days ago) and yesterday - thus meaning that some small companies simply closed 8 days ago and then didn't reopen this week since they'd only be open Tuesday to Thursday.

Heck, I know of some 9-5 workers who booked Tuesday to Thursday off and thus will have 10 days off in a row. So in many ways, a lot of the country has taken this week off! I think this is the main reason behind the numbers.

But yeah, not a major biggie really. A Royal Wedding is only really a once-in-a-generation event. I'm certainly happy about it.
