I uninstalled Chrome and will never install it again. I hadn't used it for months, and it would try and send "something" every so often through the firewall. Whatever it was it was trying to do, the firewall stopped it. Enough is enough, and I removed it.
It appears the "something" that Chrome was trying to send was a report to Google on your browsing history and other such info.
Even if you have uninstalled the chrome from your PC, don't assume that the Google Chrome spyware has been completely removed from your PC.
As is detailed in the following old thread here on webmasterworld, the spyware installed with google toolbar remains on the PC even after toolbar is uninstalled from a PC and continue to send the data from that PC to google.
If history is any indication of future behavior, then you can safely assume that the spyware that is reporting your usage pattern to google will likely remain on your PC even after Chrome is removed from it.
