I agree and disagree!
Google departments/divisions etc, do seem to be cooperating a little more these days. A classic example is Webmaster Tools, Labs, Performance. When this tool was introduced, it documented the blatant performance issues with Adsense for several months.
Apples and oranges.
We were discussing page impressions and CPM, not site performance issues.
I've been told directly in the past that Google discounts impressions to known screen shot tools, whether or not the ads are displayed.
Whether that's true or not can be tested, but so far I'm going on the assumption it's true.
