How many people visit your site and start looking at cached versions ?
Surprisingly more than you might think.
People like the fact that the page is highlighted with their search words and more importantly, if your site is temporarily not reachable or unavailable the content is via Google.
I have NOARCHIVE enabled on all pages to stop scrapers that can't scrape my site directly so it's not really a big concern to me.
FWIW, Google, nor any other SE, should be able to republish your entire site and use the excuse it's individual "page cache" which is crap, they republish the whole site.
Not my site, but everyone else let's them do this garbage meaning you give the SE more control over the visitor than I do, it's my visitor, not theirs, and if that visitor wants to see that content they'll transition to my site and not maintain a sticky presence on Google.
