I went from $30/day, to over $200/day in about 6 months, but I am in a high paying PPC market. You should choose your niche carefully. If you spend months developing a web application about lawn care, you probably won't make much money.....regardless of your traffic.

Also....the way you build an application whose funding is from direct advertisers is different then it is should you want your main source of income to come from Google. I would read Google's TOS, and help boards before your sit at your computer for the first time.

Make use of today's sophisticated sql dbases to manipulate and change content. It will help you rise through the rankings, and drive more traffic to your site.

Use both static pages, and dynamic pages. You will cover all of your bases, and develop an application that is easy to maintain down the road.
