Tim, Not to get off-topic, but are you really advocating writing travel content? Really? It seems like the web is already saturated with it... Frankly, I think there's absolutely no money in it (except for a few large-scale aggregators who never wrote a line of their own content) and the only way to do it is do it as a hobby.

I suppose if jimmychuang lives in a popular tourist destination then it would become travel content. If not, then people will still read it to learn about other cultures. I like seeing pictures and reading about life in places I'll never cisit. I'm sure others do, too.

Also, I doubt that there's "absolutely no money in it." It might not be much, but it can't be zero.

But that's not the point. The point was to suggest a topic for a website that's better than "how to make money by gaming the system." My guess is if jimmychuang had a concept for a unique website, he'd already be doing that. But taking pictures and writing about the local area is something that anyone can do. (That's why the web is saturated with those sites.) Not knowing his talents or area of expertise, it seemed like a safe suggestion.
