The old codes will still work, but they won't have the new functionality.
The AdSense Blog [adsense.blogspot.com] announced that they're rolling out a new code that will let you create an ad unit that can be adjusted straight from the AdSense Control Panel. As long as you use the new code you can change the colors, channels and corners etc. straight from the Control Panel without changing code on your website.
