Your opt-in list is... your opt-in list. I have nothing to do with it.
Why should I care what is in your opt-in list and if my email address is in there? My email address can be passed to your spam database by thousands of people, including my competitors passing to you our support email address to get it cluttered with bullsh*t. Why do you think I should be responsible for why my email address is in YOUR opt-in list?
