I might be the first one to say something good about the "advertise on this site". It started showing today and earnings have not been affected by it (same). I can't see how this would hurt your income. If anything it gives advertisers better and easier chance to put their ads on YOUR site. I think I'll leave the link as is (unless it really hurts the income).
