My preference would've been for it to be an option for us to opt-in on, versus it being put in for everyone and it having to be manually removed.
I likewise chose to drop the "Advertise on this site" marking because of the distraction it provided. It's just something else people could click (perhaps out of curiosity?) that would not be an advertisement or content within my site.
