I'm addressing it here because it's being discussed here. It's bad code. It doesn't block proxies. It should warn, "Users with open port 80 are not allowed".
Internetheaven, the HMA "proxy" can be blocked with simple JavaScript. In my profile link, you'll find the code. It will bounce those users right back to your site or give them a blank screen. HMA is not really a proxy anyhow. If it was a true proxy, this wouldn't be possible. It's a simple bot that grabs your page, chews it up, and spits it back to the end user.
The bot they use can also be blocked via the poorly implemented http headers it uses. They look nothing like the headers a regular browser sends.
