A CMS will do no damage to you or your website whatsoever. So why the heck not? I think it's foolish to bother with a static site with so many free OS projects out there. But if you liek going through dozens (hundreds? thousands?) of other pages to make a simple footer text change, add a link to a new article, change a logo, whatever... be my guest.

You have to consider growth. With a good CMS, if you decide you want a newsletter, the solution is already there. If you want tagging of articles, the option is available to you. E-commerce? Forum? Spam prevention? It's there. Etc.

BTW:
[drupal.org...] rocks the house!

The open source cms website offers free demos, but be aware that these are the base installations. Go to the project homepage to see what else is available in terms of add-on modules.
