this sounds like the problem.
This is what got it started, but then we found serious cost savings in software and equipment. Also, it was an easy step since both firms were using several hosted services already for their core enterprise. This is not unusual, of course. What is interesting is that moving to the cloud worked for all of the other services. The thinking was, "Well, if we are depending on off-site hosted services for THAT, why not for this and this and this." Soon we were looking at everything.
Ain't sophisticated, but that's how the fish flopped.
