Do you guys really believe all this stuff?
I read Eric for what he says, and what he says can be seen as troubling given that he is the CEO of the most widely utilized online business service. Thus ~ given the reach & scope of the internet into the daily lives of most people ~ this makes him by definition the leader of one of the world's most powerful companies. Combine that with the fact that they ARE archiving personal data; that databases do exist that can be analyzed and personalized into specific profiles; and that information could/can be made available to governments/corporations if the price is right. So failing to take ES seriously would be a mistake IMO, but I'll give him credit for one thing ~ he is candid ~ no one can say he didn't clearly announce their intentions.
