Google are certainly investing a hell of a lot of money into something that "might be" but does Facebook have a lot to worry about at this stage?

The last I heard Facebook where cash flow positive, but not profitable. Why is Google so keen to buy its way into the same situation. It appears there is more value to data than the dollar.
