Its absolutely no waste of time, on the contrary. It updates itself, it has 2 system partitions so that if an update fails, it can self-recover. It boots in a few second... It sounds more like saving a lot of time. And hopefully will get a lot of people on the net, that today shy away from computers, because they feel they are too complicated.
Since ChromeOS runs on a Linux kernel, I expect it to run the same version of Flash that runs on any of my Ubuntu boxes.
