This is why you do consumer testing. The ad probably looked great to everyone in the office.
Good Advertising: Horrible jingle that you can't get out of your head and it drives you crazy... but next time you're in the market for the product, their brand is the first one that comes to mind.
Bad Advertising: Ad that gives you the creeps and makes you associate the brand with negative feelings... long after you've forgotten the reason for the mental association.
