That was my first thought too, but I have other pages with links to anchors that display correctly. But then, why should I expect IE to be consistent when nothing else M$ is? :)

If this is the case, can someone tell me what to add to my CSS code to get the visited link color to be the same as the unvisited link color? I'd rather have it that way, and at least have the links readable against the background.
