Ergophobe, I kind of got lost in your answer (this is my first sub-theme, I'm new to Drupal).
I thought proper form was to create a sub-theme.css file and just make css adjustments in it. That's what I'm doing, so yes, the parent css files have to be getting loaded too.
Is it better form to make a copy of all parent theme css files and place them in the sub-theme and edit them ad hoc there? In that case, I guess the parent css wouldn't be loaded?
