Thanks for taking the time to acknowledge the value of the earlier posts. Don't be too concerned about the "lingo" - sometimes you have to ask the question to learn the correct terminology, and if we're not sure about the issue, someone will ask for more information.
Everyone has a favourite place to recommend to new coders, and I second not2easy's suggestion to set aside time each day to read and practise. Also spend some of that time reading the posts here - you'll be amazed how quickly your knowledge expands. But I would suggest you be wary of w3schools.
