So it seams like all developers are back to waiting on the "standards" people and the browser developers to tell us what we can and can not do. There is something wrong with this situation.

I have little to no understanding of the how and why browsers work, but the browser wars are supposed to be over and it is time that a similar and direct path for all developers is cut and paved.

Learning to develop excellent web pages is difficult enough for many of us without the standards being changed on a regular basis.
