Hi, me again! Okay, I've had another look at this and what I'd actually like is for the post count to be inside the link like so:

<li class="cat-item cat-item-87"><a href="../cat1/">Category1 (2)</a></li>

Now, this seems to work perfectly okay but I just can't seem to find this particular bit of code in any of the WP files - I'm presuming that's where it's bringing in the post count and category details from. It's driving me insane as it seems such a simple thing but it must be the php that's doing the work.
