In the CSS Facts and Myths [webmasterworld.com] thread Brett set a challenge. To make This page smaller and more efficient with CSS.

We talked about it and decided to open it up to the whole board. Here's the criteria:

Page must make good use of CSS
Must Validate to a strict doctype
Must significantly reduce code bloat and load times
Must look pretty much the same as it does now
Use the page you're looking at now as your start point

Please post example pages with explanations as to why your page works better.

First Prize

A small plastic trumpet to be presented at PubCon and the honor of not only winning but of showing Brett how much better and efficient his pages can be ;)
