As always, make it look the way you want it in Opera/Gecko first, then you can change it for IE ;)

Play around with specific border-top/border-left (etc.) colors. Then, just add a little thingy for IE with conditional comments.

In general, other browsers make the highlight lighter than IE does... Even if you specify the color. Why? Because they add highlight to the color, which IE doesn't...
