---- CSS 1/CSS 2 compatability issues

I'm just delving into CSS lately, and from what I can see so far, I absolutely LOVE it. It's just what I've been looking for, for better layout control. I'm a little confused, though.

I'm using Topstyle 2 to check my css files and it checks for compatability problems in catagories: CSS1 CSS2 IE4 NS4 IE3 IE5. etc. Personally, I'm having trouble keeping all the compatability issues straight in my head. Is there somewhere that lists it all in some handy table or something?

I want to use only the codes that are going to be okay in the majority of browsers, so what's the best way? What to steer clear of and what's always okay?
