In my experience, remarketing ads are the most profitable that we run. We use both text and banners for our followup ads.
Target carefully, and be sure to set impression caps to limit how often your ads will show.
You want to achieve a gentle courteous reminder, without making the user feel that you're stalking them.
You may find that you can bid more aggressively on your remarketing ads. Monitor your conversion rates and let the numbers tell you what to do!
