Forcing more simple control knobs onto people who need to adjust for performance is a step backwards. The simplicity will attract low bidding dolts who fail anyhow, and will simultaneously punish those who optimize and have large budgets (and they'll be forced to spend less).

Imagine you own a corvette and a mini van, and Google just forced you to use a single, shared gas pedal - to "enhance" the simplicity of operating your vehicles.

Give simplicity to those who need it, don't force it on those who don't.
